Each tool uses WebAssembly and JavaScript inside your browser. The contents of your files are not uploaded to a CLEKARA server to be processed: the result is produced on your own machine and downloaded from there.
Libraries and the compression engine are downloaded as static files, the same way any web page loads its scripts. That request carries your IP address, as any visit to any site does — never the contents of your documents.
Only what you need gets loaded
The compression engine weighs several megabytes and is downloaded only when you open the compress tool. The other tools load much lighter libraries, and only at the moment you actually use them.
On large documents you get real progress, and long operations can be cancelled without reloading the page.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account?
No. Every tool works without signing up and without installing anything.
Is there a size limit?
Your device sets the limit. We suggest files up to 250 MB on a computer and considerably less on older phones, because the whole process happens in the browser's memory.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, on current browsers. For very large files a computer will be noticeably faster and far less likely to run out of memory.
Can I work with protected PDFs?
If the PDF asks for a password to open, we will ask you for it. Digitally signed documents and files with owner restrictions are blocked on purpose, because rewriting them would break the signature or remove those restrictions.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. There is no paid tier, no watermark and no daily limit.
