The short version

CLEKARA stores two small things in your own browser so the site behaves the way you left it, and — only if you agree — allows Google to set advertising cookies. Nothing about your files is ever stored, sent or measured. They are processed on your device and never leave it, so there is nothing for a cookie to say about them.

What we store ourselves

Your theme. If you switch between light and dark, we remember it under the name clekara-theme so the page does not flash the wrong colours next time. It never leaves your browser.

Your answer about advertising. When you accept or reject ads, we remember that under the name clekara-consent, so we do not ask again on every page.

Both are stored with localStorage, not with cookies: they are never attached to a request and never reach our server or anybody else’s. Clearing your browser data removes them, and the site simply starts again with its defaults.

Advertising

CLEKARA is free to use and has no paid tier. Advertising is what pays for the domain and the bandwidth. We use Google AdSense, which may set cookies in your browser to choose which ads to show you and to measure them. While no advertising is running on the site, no notice appears and no Google code is loaded at all.

None of that happens until you accept. If you have not answered the notice, or you rejected it, the Google script is not loaded at all — not blocked afterwards, not loaded. You can check it yourself in your browser’s network tab.

If you accept, Google acts as an independent data controller for what it collects. Its own explanation is at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can manage your ad settings at adssettings.google.com.

Changing your mind

Clear your browsing data for this site and the notice will appear again on your next visit, so you can answer differently. In Chrome and Edge: the padlock next to the address → Cookies and site data → Delete. In Firefox: the padlock → Clear cookies and site data. In Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage website data.

Rejecting ads does not restrict anything. Every tool works exactly the same, with the same speed and the same limits.

What we do not do

No tracking pixels, no fingerprinting, no social network buttons, no A/B testing scripts and no third-party fonts. The pages you are reading are plain static files.

The one measurement we do keep is Cloudflare Web Analytics, which our host adds to the pages. It counts page views, referrers and load times without cookies and without any identifier, so it cannot follow you between sites or build a profile. Nothing about your files reaches it, because your files never leave your device.

Apart from that counter and the advertising described above — which only runs if you accept it — nothing on this site makes a request to any other company.
